Dorothy V. “Dot” Fowler Union, Sc

Mrs. Dorothy V. "Dot" Fowler, age 86 of Union, widow of Curtis R. Fowler, passed away Monday, February 2, 2015 at Providence Hospital in Columbia. Mrs. Fowler was born March 17, 1928, a daughter of the late Albert Sidney Johnston Vaughan and Frances Mahalia "Fannie" Adams Vaughan. She was a graduate of Union High School and retired from United Merchants - Union Mill Plant as the Plant Manager's Administrative Assistant. Following retirement, she worked with Joyce's Florist. Mrs. Fowler was a member of Mon Aetna Baptist Church where she was a member of the choir for many years. Surviving are a son, Andy Fowler and wife Pam of Union; two grandchildren: Ross Fowler and Nicole Fowler both of Union; a sister, Helen Belk of Union and numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Fowler was predeceased by two sisters, Margaret Howell and Katie Johnson. Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Thursday, February 5, 2015 at Mon Aetna Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Benny Green. Burial will be in Union Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers will be Alfred Belk, Butch Belk, Neil Howell, Charles Howell, Keith Vanderford and Jerry Nance. Members of the Senior Adult Ladies II Sunday School Class of Mon Aetna Baptist Church are asked to sit in a group. Visitation will be held 1:00-2:30 PM Thursday in the church prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mon Aetna Baptist Church Building Fund, 1431 Lockhart Hwy, Union, SC 29379. The family will be at her home.
