November 20 ,2016 Mrs. Dorothy Sanders Gault, age 91 of 200 Bennett Street, Union passed away peacefully Saturday, November 19, 2016 at her home surrounded by her family and friends. Mrs. Gault was the widow of George Ned Gault and was lovingly known as "Aunt Dot". Mrs. Gault was born in Cherokee County, SC February 14, 1925, a daughter of the late Maybelle McCullough Sanders. She retired from Roses Dime Store and was a member of Foster's Chapel United Methodist Church where she was member of United Methodist Women. Surviving are a daughter-in-law, Patti Ham Gault of Union; two grandchildren: Jessica Deanne Gault of the home and William "Will" S. Sexton and fiancée Alex Moss; special friends, Jerry Hamm, Tim and Terry Gregory and her devoted best friend of sixty years Ann Pearl Smith and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Mrs. Gault was predeceased by a son, Timothy Lester Gault. The family would like to say a special "Thank You" to the staff of Blue Ridge Hospice for their care of Mrs. Gault. Graveside services will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at Foster's Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery conducted by Rev. Michael Walker and Rev. Larry Hyder. Active pallbearers will be Tim Gregory, Toney Farr, Freddie Gault, Keith Gault, Will Sexton, Adam Gregory and David Gregory. Visitation will be held 6:00-8:00 PM Monday evening at the SR Holcombe Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Blue Ridge Hospice, 839 Main Street, Suite D, Buffalo, SC 29321.
