Dorothy (Vaughan) Grant

Mrs. Dorothy Vaughan Grant, age 78, of 1210 South Pinckney St., Union, loving wife of Larry Grant went home to be with the Lord Saturday, July 8, 2023, at Upstate Community Hospice House in Landrum.

Mrs. Grant was born in Union, November 17, 1944, a daughter of the late Aubrey James and Bertha Henderson Vaughan. She was a graduate of Union High School and attended Cecil Business College.  Mrs. Grant was a lifelong member of Tabernacle Baptist Church and worked at Carlisle Finishing Plant and later worked at Eddie Hines machine shop.

She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.  Surviving in addition to her loving husband, Larry are three brothers-in-law, Gene Grant and wife Myrtis of Gilbert, Kent Grant and companion, Liz Ward of Lexington and Colon Duckett of Union; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and her beloved fur babies, she called "Her Boys" DJ and JJ. Mrs. Grant was predeceased by three brothers, Aubrey Dean Vaughan, Joe Earl Vaughan and James Thomas Vaughan: two sisters, Rita V. Hines and Maxine V. Duckett.

A memorial service will be announced at a later date.

The family will be at their respective homes.
