Mrs. Dorothy James Owens, age 84, formerly of Philippi Church Rd., widow of Robert Edwards Owens, passed away Thursday, December 26, 2024 at Wesley Court Assisted Living in Boiling Springs.

Mrs. Owens was born in Union, August 14, 1940, a daughter of the late Albert and Helen Mitchell James. She was a graduate of Union High School and had retired from Her Majesty, Inc. She had also worked at Western Auto of Union. Mrs. Owens was a member of Brown's Creek Baptist Church and a member of the BPO Does.

Surviving are a son, Richard Eugene Owens and wife Janice of Union; two grandsons, Richard Andrew Owens and wife Megan and Jonathan Eugene Owens and wife Kaleigh; great grandchildren, Alan Trey Owens and wife Zoe, Andrew Brett Owens, Kameron Owens, Tanner Owens and Austin Owens and great great grandchildren, Alan Trey Owens, Jr. and Colton Owens. She was predeceased by a brother, Ernest James.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, December 29, 2024 at Brown's Creek Baptist Church conducted by Dr. Shawn Head and Rev. Carrol Caldwell. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 until 3:00 PM Sunday at the church prior to the services.

Active pallbearers will be Andy Owens, Jonathan Owens, Trey Owens, Brett Owens, Tanner Owens and Dean Robinson.

Members of the BPO Does are asked to sit in a group.

Memorials may be made to Warriors for Rare Disease, c/o Founder Federal Credit Union, 315 Buffalo-West Springs Hwy., Union, SC 29379.

The family will be at the home of her son, Richard and Janice Owens, 735 Old Buncombe Rd., Union, SC 29379.
