Dorothy H. Rice

Mrs. Dorothy Nell Hanna Rice, age 86, of 1308 Parker Rd., Enoree, SC., widow of Donald Humphries Rice passed away Friday, January 3, 2014 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Rice was born March 8, 1927, a daughter of the late Paul Heath Hanna and Alpha Lanford Hanna. She was a graduate of Woodruff High School and Lander University. Mrs. Rice was a member of Enoree United Methodist Church and a member of the United Methodist Women. Surviving are three daughters: Debbie Rice Harrison of Woodruff, Dianne Rice Hurt of Greenville and Darlene Annette Rice of Summerville; two sons: Donald Paul Rice and wife Marcy of Enoree and David Kenneth Rice of Woodruff; a brother: Niles Edwin Hanna, Sr. and wife Ann of Enoree; six grandchildren: Robert Harrison, Holly Harrison Knight, Adam Harrison, Megan Hurt, Bradon Hurt and Forrest Ryan; two great-grand children. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 PM Sunday, January 5, 2014 at Enoree United Methodist Church, conducted by the Rev. Kevin Bishop and Rev. Bill Bynum. Burial will follow at Greenhaven Memorial Gardens in Woodruff, SC. Active pallbearers will be Nilie Hanna, Niles Hanna, III, Mac Young, Stanley Rice, Sonny Grady and Lee Benjamin. The family will receive friends Sunday, January 5, 2014 from 2:00 until 4:00 prior to the service at the church. Memorials may be made to Enoree United Methodist Church, 1240 Parker Rd., Enoree, SC. 29335. The family is at the home, of her son, David Rice, Three Pines, 141 Oakwood Dr., Woodruff, SC 29388.
