Dorothy "Dot" (Stapleton) Willard

Mrs. Dorothy Stapleton "Dot" Willard, age 94, widow of George Douglas "Doc" Willard, Jr. passed away Saturday, April 1, 2023.

Mrs. Willard was born in Whitmire November 11, 1928, a daughter of the late James William "Bill" and Margaret Stapleton Carroll. She was a member of Bethesda Baptist Church and a member of the Eastern Star, Newberry Chapter 226.

Surviving are two daughters, Cheryl Wilson and husband Johnny of Whitmire and Susan Laurence of Enoree; a son, Danny Lee Willard and wife, Loretta of Whitmire; a sister, Frances Grant and husband Ray of Columbia; five grandchildren, Kerry Sligh and husband Lemont, Amy Smith and husband Jamie Poston, Connie Baker, Lee Willard and wife Ashley, and Deanna Willard; eight great grandchildren, Bramlett Goins, Courtnie Goins, James Poston, Jacob Poston, Joseph Poston, Ty Sligh, Railee Felker and Emersyn Willard; two great-great grandchildren, Valerie Goins and Kirin Crisp; two nieces, Dawn Reighley and Donna Lawson; two nephews, Michael Raines and wife Julie and Doug Maness; and many dear cousins. Mrs. Willard was predeceased by two sisters, Georgia "Jo" Maness and Betty Reighley; and one grandson, Jason Smith.

The family would like to give a "Special Thank You" to Crescent Hospice for their kindness and special care to their mother.
