Dorothy S. Young

March 26, 2015 Mrs. Dorothy Stepp Young, age 83, formerly of Mt. Vernon Rd., Union, widow of William S. "Bowser" Young, passed away, Thursday, March 26, 2015 at Heartland of Union. Mrs. Young was born in Union, April 30, 1931, a daughter of the late Robert G. Stepp and Louise Gadden Stepp. She was a homemaker and a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church. Surviving are twins; a daughter, Sherry Y. Hoffmann and husband Steve of Spartanburg and a son, Terry E. Young and wife Jean of Union; two sisters, Estelle Dill and husband Earl of Spartanburg and Mildred Alexander and husband Arthur of Union; a grand-daughter, Leslie Sykes and husband David of Gilbert; two grandsons, Chad Silvers and wife Mia of Roebuck and Stewart Young and wife Chloe of Saluda; and 6 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Young was predeceased by two sisters, Arletta Knox and Vera Elrod and a brother, J.B. Stepp. Graveside services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, March 28, 2015 at Union Memorial Gardens conducted by Rev. Robert Chapman. The family will receive friends at the cemetery immediately following the services. Memorials may be made to Heartland of Union, 709 Rice Ave. Ext., Union, SC 29379 or to Medi Home Hospice, 101 S.
