Earl "Gator" Hudson, Iii

Mr. Earl E. "Gator" Hudson, III, age 55, husband of Leila Betsy Sherbert Hudson of Union, passed away Wednesday, July 10, 2024.

Mr. Hudson was born in Washington, GA, August 18, 1968, a son of Donna Perdue Hudson of Thomson, GA and the late Earl E. "Junebug" Hudson, Jr.  He was a graduate of Briarwood Academy and the Nashville Auto Diesel School. Mr. Hudson was a truck driver for 37 years, lastly employed with J.B. Hunt where he also was a driver trainer. He had previously worked as a real estate agent

Mr. Hudson had served as Boat Captain for his son, Kyle on the Union County High School Bass Anglers fishing team. He had also served on the Union County Tourism Commission and was a member of Philippi Baptist Church.

Surviving in addition to his wife and mother are a son, Z. Kyle Hudson of the home; a brother, William L. Hudson of Thomson, GA; a brother-in-law, Scott Sherbert and wife Jessica of Union; two nieces, Brianna Hudson and Mia Sherbert; three nephews, Jay, Ben and Sam Sherbert and special friends, Chris Johnson and wife Davene of Washington, GA. He is also survived by many close cousins in the Maxwell and Perdue families as well as many close friends.

A service to celebrate his life will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, July 20, 2024 at Philippi Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Robert Scott and Rev. Brad Goodale. The family will receive friends immediately following the services.
