April 16, 2015 Mr. Earl Lawson, age 78, of Cross Keys Hwy, Enoree, widower of Anita Scheidel Lawson, passed away Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Mr. Lawson was born in Union Co., June 25, 1936, a son of the late Charlie and Sara Jane Brewington Lawson. He retired from Torrington Co. as a supervisor and was a veteran of the US Air Force serving from 1955 till 1960 as a jet engine mechanic. Mr. Lawson was a member of Padgett's Creek Baptist Church where he was a member of the Men's Fellowship Sunday School Class and had served as a Deacon. He was also a member of several classic car clubs over the years. Surviving are a daughter, Denise Lawson Gann (Troy) of Boiling Springs; two sons; Henry Charlie Lawson (Paula) and David Earl Lawson (Cheryl) all of Cross Anchor; two sisters, Ruby Sinclair of Spartanburg and Kate Wofford of Cross Anchor; a brother, W.C. Lawson of Clinton; 7 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Mr. Lawson was predeceased by two brothers, Ernest and C.J. Lawson. Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Saturday, April 18, 2015 at Padgett's Creek Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Carrol Caldwell. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Active pallbearers will be John Foster, Jim Burnett, Billy Lawson, David Westmoreland, John Knox and Wayne Sinclair. Visitation will be held Saturday from 1:00 until 3:00 PM at the church prior to the services. Memorial may be made to the Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home, 686 Jeff Davis Dr., Spartanburg, SC 29303. The family will be at their respective homes.
