Earl O'Neil Valentine

Mr. Earl O’Neil Valentine, age 78, of 523 Lakeview Heights, Union, widower of Jane Lawter Valentine, passed away February 25, 2026 at Union Post Acute Assisted Living.

Mr. Valentine was born April 25, 1947 in Union, a son of the late Earl Valentine and Alice Lancaster Valentine. He was a 1965 graduate of Union High School and retired from Timken Company after 44 years. Mr. Valentine was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church and attended Bogansville Methodist Church. He was an avid Gamecock Fan, a member of Union County Motorsport Association, enjoyed woodworking and was a proud grandfather.

Surviving are a daughter, Kelly V. Lawson and husband Lynn of Union; a son, Brad Valentine and wife Brooke of Union; four grandchildren, Abbie Valentine, Joseph Lawson and wife Larrisa, Carson Valentine, and Harrison Lawson; a sister, Kathy V. Williams and husband Robert of Pelzer; a brother, Lanny Valentine and wife Cathie of Graniteville; and an uncle, Dean Valentine and wife Rowena.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00PM, Saturday, February 28, 2026 at Bogansville United Methodist Church conducted by the Rev. Ed Traxler and Rev. Malachi Rodgers. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Steve Morrow, Kevin Morrow, Dave Valentine, Tim Sweatt, Sammy Smith, Mike Petrie, Robby Gentry, and Doug Johnson. The nurses and staff of Union Post Acute Care are asked to sit in a group and form the honorary escort.

Visitation will be held in the Church Social Hall immediately following the services.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Union Post Acute and Union Medical Center for their love and care of Mr. Valentine.
