Edgar Larry Tyler

September 29, 2015 Mr. Edgar Larry Tyler, age 66, husband of Rebecca Whitehead "Wally" Tyler of 1303 River Rd., Union, went home to be with his Lord, Monday, September 28, 2015 at his home. Mr. Tyler was born in Kingsport, TN August 5, 1949, a son of the late Edgar George Tyler and Sara Adams Tyler. He was retired from Hodge's Real Estate. Mr. Tyler was a faithful member of Morningside Baptist Church where he served as an assistant Sunday School Teacher; served with the 12 Point Ministry and also served with the Men's Ministry of the church. Surviving in addition to his wife are three sons: TJ Tyler and wife Nicole, Travis Tyler and Ashley Tyler and friend Dabriada all of Union; a step-daughter, Jenifer Bradley and husband Mitch of Chapin; two sisters: Alice T. Sorrells of Union and Gail T. Phillips and husband Rev. Dr. William "Buddy" Phillips of Myrtle Beach; a brother, Michael "Mikey" Tyler of Clinton; seven grandchildren: Samantha Hogan, Dylan Tyler, Tori Tyler, Joshua Tyler, Jada Tyler, Madelyn Tyler and Gabriel Tyler; two great-grandchildren: Chloe Guy and Aubrey Beaman and a special friend, Sherry H. Hodge of Union. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, October 1, 2015 at Morningside Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Dr. Aulbrey Calvert, Rev. Dr. Eddie Saxon and Rev. Dr. William Phillips. Active pallbearers will be Mike Poole, Paul "Doe" McCutchen, Zachary Poole, Benji Sorrells, Michael Sorrells, Tyler Phillips and Jason Proctor. The following are asked to serve as Honorary Pallbearers: Don Anderson, Tommy Watkins, Ronnie O'Dell, Tim Hollingsworth, Gerald Gregory, Donnie Warren, members of his Sunday School Class, members of the Men's Ministry and members of the 12 Point Ministry. Visitation will be held 6:00-8:00 PM Wednesday evening at Morningside Baptist Church. Memorials may be made to Morningside Baptist Church, 112 Bates Avenue, Union, SC 29379 or to Miracle League Ball Team of Union County, P.O. Box 425, Union, SC 29379. The family is at the home of his son, TJ and Nicole Tyler, 1211 River Rd., Union.
