Edith Price Crisp, 91, of Orangeburg, SC, died Monday, November 24, 2014 at Calhoun Convalescent Center in St. Matthews, SC. Mrs. Crisp was born August 7, 1923 in Buffalo, South Carolina. She was the daughter of Ethel Price Lawson and Jesse J. Price. She was married for 59 years to Thomas James Crisp. She was a life long member of Buffalo Baptist Church in Buffalo, SC where she served as church organist and pianist for many years. She taught music at West Springs Elementary School for a number of years. She also gave private music lessons in her home. Many local children developed a love for music under the tutelage of Mrs. Crisp. Funeral arrangements will be handled by Holcombe Funeral Home of Union, SC. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 26, at 11 AM at the graveside in Union Memorial Gardens, Union, SC with the Rev. Tim Anderson officiating. Mrs. Crisp was predeceased by a son, Gene Thomas Crisp, of Buffalo, SC. She was also predeceased by her husband, Thomas James Crisp, of Buffalo, SC. Survivors include a son, Jerry L. and wife, Cindy Crisp of Rowesville, SC; a grandson, Matthew L. Crisp of Clemson, SC; a grandson, David T. Crisp and wife, Laura Crisp of Buffalo, SC; and a great granddaughter, Lilah Grayce Crisp of Buffalo, SC. The family wishes to thank the employees of Calhoun Convalescent Center for their wonderful care and support. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Buffalo Baptist Church, 1424 Main Street, Buffalo, SC 29321.
