Edith Christine (Sweezy) Knox

Mrs. Edith Christine Sweezy Knox, age 92, of 1817 Jonesville Highway, Union, widow of George Henry Knox, passed away, Wednesday, September 9, 2020 at Ellen Sagar Nursing Center.

Mrs. Knox was born July 14, 1928 a daughter of the late H.D. Sweezy and Willie Lee Hendeson Sweezy.  She retired as a Dietician from Wallace Thomson Hospital.  Mrs. Knox was a member of Trinity Baptist Church.

Surviving are three sons, Roger Knox and significant other, Sara Ellis of Union, Lyndell Knox and wife Barbara of Jonesville, and Brent "Dinky" Knox and wife Gena of Union; a sister, Marcia Grytki of Union; four grandchildren, Amy Knox, Tracey Turner, Christie Jett and husband Phillip, and Katie Knox; and several great-grandchildren.  She was predeceased by a brother, Leonard Sweezy and a sister, Margaret Morris.

Graveside services will be held Friday, September 11, 2020 at 12:00 Noon at Union Memorial Gardens conducted by the Rev. Neil Keisler.  Visitation will be held immediately following the services at the cemetery.

The family would like to thank the Nurses and Staff of Ellen Sagar Nursing Center for their love and care for Mrs. Knox during her illness.
