Edna Frances Brasington

January 6, 2017 Mrs. Edna Frances Mitchell Brasington, age 88, formerly of Meansville Rd., Union, passed away Friday, January 6, 2017 at Ellen Sagar Nursing Center. Mrs. Brasington was the widow of Malcolm Ray "Mickey" Brasington. Mrs. Brasington was born in Lockhart, SC July 23, 1928, a daughter of the late Sam Mitchell and Mildred Cookson Mitchell. Mrs. Brasington was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church where she was a member of the choir, Tommie Vaughan Sunday School Class and the Keenager Club. She was an avid tea pots collector and gardner. Surviving are a son, Mitchell Ray "Mitch" Brasington and wife Peggy of CA; a daughter-in-law, Sandra Brasington of Union; three grandchildren: Chad Brasington, Courtney B Lyon and Melissa Cardwell; eight great-grandchildren and a niece, Fredia Barnado of Union. Mrs. Brasington was predeceased by a son, Bruce Brasington. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Monday, January 9, 2017 at SR Holcombe Funeral Chapel conducted by Rev. Dr. Tommy Vaughn. Burial will be in Union Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held 1:00-2:00 PM Monday in the chapel prior to the service. Memorials may be made to Tabernacle Baptist Church, 915 S Pinckney Street, Union, SC 29379. The family is at the home of her daughter-in-law, Sandra Brasington, 1429 Meansville Rd., Union.
