Edward O'Shields

Mr. Edward O'Shields, age 87, husband of Cornelia Sanders O'Shields of 663 Sardis Rd., Union, passed away Saturday, April 23, 2022, at his home.

Mr. O'Shields was born in Buffalo, February 27, 1935, a son of the late Hervy and Maggie Riddle O'Shields. He was owner and operator of O'Shields Deer Cooler and was a veteran of the US Navy. Mr. O'Shields was a member of Sardis United Methodist Church and the Union Masonic Lodge #75.

Surviving in addition to his wife of 63 years, Cornelia, are a daughter, Julie O'Shields Taylor and husband David of Gaffney; two sons, Mark Edward O'Shields and wife Rae and David Lynn O'Shields and wife Sarah all of Union; six grandchildren, April Marbry and husband Chad, Corey Taylor, Ferran O'Shields, Jarred O'Shields and wife Katelyn, Caitlyn O'Shields and Hayden O'Shields; and six great-grandchildren, Taylor, Kayden, Amiyah, Eli, Stetson and Nolan. Mr. O'Shields was predeceased by three sisters, Margret Lanford, Virginia Boulware and Laura Carnell and a brother, J.D. O'Shields.

A memorial service with Military Honors and Masonic Rites will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, April 27, 2022, at Sardis United Methodist Church conducted by Rev. Jeff Farmer. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 Wednesday at the church prior to the service.
