Edwin E. Ponder

March 24, 2018 Mr. Edwin Eugene "Eddie" Ponder, age 64, husband of Bonnie Lane Ponder of 624 Bailey Rd., Union passed away Friday, March 23, 2018 at his home. Mr. Ponder was born in Union, SC. January 23, 1954, a son of the late Max Ponder and Nell Coleman Ponder. He was a graduate of Union High School and retired from the Timken Company. Mr. Ponder retired from the South Carolina National Guards and attended Oakbrook Church. Surviving in addition to his wife are a son, Billy Ponder and wife Ginnie of Union; two step sons, Gregg Vinson and wife, Kristen of Blacksburg and Morgan "Moe" Vinson and fiancée Brooke McCutcheon of Union; two brothers, Mark Ponder of NC. and Maxie Ponder of Buffalo; grandchildren, Garrett Ponder and Melle Ponder both of Union; Abigail Vinson and Aiden Vinson both of Spartanburg, James Suttles and Destiny Fowler both of Blacksburg, Jayden Vinson, Carter Vinson and Bella Vinson all of Inman, and Tanner Johnson, Morgan "M.J." Vinson both of Union. Services will be held at 4:00 PM Monday, March 26, 2018 at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home Chapel conducted by the Rev. Josh Freeman. Visitation will be held at from 3:00-4:00 prior to the service at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home. The family is at the home of his son, Billy and Ginnie Ponder, 405 South Street, Union, SC. 29379.
