Elizabeth Morris Smith

Mrs. Elizabeth Morris Smith, age 85, wife of Alfred E. Smith of 207 Spruce St., Union, passed away, Monday, May 23, 2016 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Smith was born in Union, SC on November 8, 1930 a daughter of the late Thom Morris and Thaddie Horne Morris. She as a 1947 graduate of Union High School. Mrs. Smith along with her husband owned and operated Smith's Jewelry Store. She was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church. Surviving in addition to her husband of 64 years are a daughter, Beth Smith Justice and husband Todd of Union; two sons, Thomas R. Smith and Joe R. Smith both of Union; six grandchildren who loved their "Nana" dearly: Nikki Robinson and husband Trad, Katy Beth Seaburg and husband Wesley all of Jonesville, Bryan Robinson and wife Audrey of Union, Brett Robinson and wife Tiffany of Easley, Rusty Smith of Union, and Joseph Smith of Wake Forest, NC; two step-granddaughters, Ashley Reese and husband Chris and Amber Justice all of Union; seven great-grandchildren, Selah Kate Robinson, Westley Robinson, Jacob Robinson, Maddox Robinson, Thomas Robinson, Martin Robinson, Weston Seaburg and expecting number 8, Baby Seaburg in June; one sister-in-law, Sylvia Morris; a special family friend Deanne Rector; and a number of nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by one daughter, Melanie Jane Smith; two sisters, Ruth McGowan and Annie Mae Bradley; and three brothers, Clarence, Virgil, and Billy Morris. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, May 26, 2016 at Tabernacle Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Robert Chapman. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Bryan Robinson, Brett Robinson, Wesley Seaburg, Trad Robinson, Rusty Smith, and Joseph Smith. Visitation will be 6:00 until 8:00 PM Wednesday evening at Tabernacle Baptist Church. Memorials may be made to Tabernacle Baptist Church, Debt Reduction Fund, 915 S. Pinckney St., Union, SC 29379.
