Mrs. Elizabeth White Yarbrough, age 90, widow of Larkin Van Yarbrough, Jr, formerly of 109 Baber Street, Union, passed away Saturday, February 15, 2014 at Wallace Thomson Hospital. Mrs. Yarbrough was born in Buffalo, SC December 2, 1923, a daughter of the late James T. White and Elizabeth Messer White. She retired from Atlas Vending Company in Greenville after twenty years of service. Mrs. Yarbrough had previously worked for Union Daily Times for ten years. She was a member of Morningside Baptist Church where she had served as a Sunday School Teacher and was a former WMU President. Mrs. Yarbrough was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Surviving are a son, Johnny Ray Yarbrough and wife Carolyn of Union; four grandchildren: Jason Yarbrough and wife Michelle, Jerry Yarbrough and wife Carolyn, Trey Arrington and wife Jennifer and Chad Arrington; a number of great-grandchildren and a number of great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Yarbrough was predeceased by a son, Jimmy Yarbrough. Graveside services will be held 4:00 PM Monday, February 17, 2014 at Rosemont Cemetery conducted by Rev. Dr. Aulbrey Calvert and Mr. Trey Arrington. Visitation will be held at the graveside immediately following the service. Memorials may be made to Morningside Baptist Church Building Fund, 112 Bates Avenue, Union, SC 29379. The family is at their respective homes.
