Ellaree Patterson Upton

Mrs. Ellaree Patterson Upton, age 79 of 419 Ford Rd., Gaffney widow of Wofford Upton, passed away Monday, April 27, 2015 at her home. Mrs. Upton was born in Union, SC on December 1, 1935 a daughter of the late Fred and Plummie Franklin Patterson. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Mrs. Upton was of the Baptist Faith. Surviving are four daughters, Sharon Lattiment and husband George of Gaffney, Karen Seals and husband Robert of the home, Plummie Seals and husband Tim of Gaffney, and Fredia Harvey and husband Brian of Gaffney; three sons, Aaron Upton of Mooresboro, NC, Paul Upton and wife Dottie of Gaffney, and Freddie Upton of Gaffney; four step-daughters, Sandra Phillips of Cowpens, Brenda Durham of Florida, Debra Barrett of Gaffney, and Barbara Gossett of Myrtle Beach, SC; twenty-six grandchildren; and thirty-six great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Friday, May 1, 2015 at 3:00 PM at Holcombe's Jonesville Chapel conducted by the Rev. Dean Patton. Burial will follow at Hammett Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Mrs. Upton's Grandsons. Visitation will be held Thursday evening from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Holcombe's Jonesville Chapel. Memorials may be made to the Ellaree P. Upton Fund, PO Box 293, Union, SC 29379. The family is at the home of her daughter, Plummie Seals, 417 Ford Rd., Gaffney, SC 29340.
