Emilie Joan Billings

Mrs. Emilie Joan Billings, age 85 of 1503 Old Buncombe Rd., Union, went home to be with the Lord, Thursday February 22, 2024.

Mrs. Billings was born in Camden, April 19, 1938, a daughter of the late Joe D. Smith and Emma Stevenson James. She was formerly employed with Her Majesty in Union and was owner of a home decorations store in Virginia for eighteen years. Mrs. Billings was a member of Padgett's Creek Baptist where she was a member of the Willing Workers Sunday School Class and was very active in Vacation Bible School and other various activities of the church. She was first married to the late James D. Burnett.

Surviving are two daughters, Wanda B. Parker and husband Skip of Prosperity, and Kathy B. Stone and husband Stephen of Sedelia; her former husband, Ray Billings of Virginia; and a sister, Linda S. Heatherly of Jonesville. She is also survived by a grandson, Reid Stone and wife McKayla and great grandchildren, Brynlee Stone and Granger Stone, and a special friend Kate Wofford. She was predeceased by a son, James David Burnett.

Funeral services will be held at 3:30 PM Sunday, February 25, 2024 at Padgett's Creek Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Carrol Caldwell. Visitation will be held Sunday from 2:30 until 3:30 at the church prior to the services.

Active pallbearers will be Robin Jones, Levi Allen, Jim Burnett, Edmund Wirchball, Johnny Knox and William Mosley.

The family will be at the home, 1503 Old Buncombe Rd., Union.
