Mr. Emry D. Roberts, age 77, of 203 South 1st Street, Lockhart, widower of Laura Howell Roberts, passed away Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at his home. Mr. Roberts was born in Chester County on June 26, 1937 a son of the late Frank Lee Roberts and Lois George Roberts. He was retired supervisor from Milliken & Co.-Lockhart Plant. Mr. Roberts was a member of Lockhart First Baptist Church where he was a former Deacon. He also served in the South Carolina National Guard - Lockhart Unit. Surviving are two sons, Jeff Roberts of Lockhart; Randy Roberts and wife Lynn of Lockhart; a sister, Brenda Moore of Easley; two brothers, Roy Roberts of Lancaster and Bill Roberts of Whitmire; a special friend, Jo Ann Latham of Lockhart; seven grandchildren, Jennifer Roberts, Kristy Morgan, Chelsea McCloud, Kyle Roberts, Joey Roberts, Cody Roberts, and Drake Roberts; and five great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son Joey Roberts and a granddaughter, Debra Roberts. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, November 22, 2014 at 3:00 PM at Lockhart First Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Delos Blanton, Rev. Ben Hill and Rev. Roger Gosnell. Active pallbearers will be Tommy Cabaniss, Teddy Cabaniss, Ray Vaughan, Mike Allen, Kyle Roberts, and Joey Roberts. Members of Mr. Roberts Sunday School Class and Mr. Lewis Ham are asked to sit in a group. Visitation will be held from 6:30 until 8:30 PM Friday evening at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home.
