Ernest "Fuzzy" Wood

Mr. Ernest B. "Fuzzy" Wood, age 78 of 153 Redbud Ln., Jonesville, widower of Headie Ruth Thompson Wood, passed away, Wednesday, November 25, 2020 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center due to medical complications.

Mr. Wood was born September 4, 1942 in Lockhart, a son of the late James Boyd and Mable Allen Wood.  He attended Lockhart Schools and retired from Community Cash and had previously worked at Cone Mill.  Mr. Wood owned and operated Woody's Deer Cooler.  He was a member of Lockhart First Baptist Church and was previously a member of Mt. Joy Baptist Church.  Mr. Wood was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

Surviving are two daughters, Kathrine Jean Winburn and husband Kirk of Rock Hill and Rhonda Wood Bogan and husband David of Spartanburg; a son, Timmy Wayne Wood and Angie of Jonesville; a sister, Peggy Sanders and husband Wallace of Pacolet; a brother, Kent Wood and wife Kelly of Union; seven grandchildren, Kristen Denton, Brittany Wood, Kara Roach, Kaitlyn Bogan, Elijah Scott, Isaiah Scott, and Rylan Lee; and five great-grandchildren.  A special thank you to Tommie Fowler who he thought of as a son.  He was predeceased by a brother, J.B. Wood.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, November 28, 2020 at Mt. Joy Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Eddie Smith and Rev. Merritt Wentz.  The family will receive friends immediately following the services in the Church Fellowship Hall.
