October 18, 2015 Mrs. Essie Merle Eaves Vinson age 90, formerly 4712 of Lockhart Hwy., widow of Everette Lafayette Vinson, passed away Saturday, October 17, 2015 at Ellen Sagar Nursing Home. Mrs. Vinson was born in Union, July 23, 1925, a daughter of the late Paul Revere Eaves and Sibbie Morris Eaves. She was a graduate of Union High School and retired from Milliken Co., Monarch Plant. Mrs. Vinson was a member of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church where she was a member of the United Methodist Women, the Church Choir and the Marion Conard Sunday School Class. She loved to sing and loved her church and church family dearly. She was a very loving and devoted mother and grandmother. Surviving are a daughter, Audrey Vinson Boler of the home; two granddaughters, Mariah Lee Boler of the home and Malerie Harris Greer and husband Jeffrey of Union; a grandson, Adam Wesley Harris and wife Shelley of Pauline; a sister, Kitty Vinson of Union; four great-grandchildren, Lilly Harris and Colton Harris of Pauline and Aydin Greer and Wesley Greer of Union and numerous nieces and nephew. Mrs. Vinson was predeceased by a daughter, Beverly Vinson Harris; three sisters, Ann Sprouse, Laura Comer and Mary Sybil Eaves; and five brothers, Bill, Ralph, Ed, Weldon and Jimmy Dean Eaves. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church conducted by Rev. Jimmy Harper and Rev. Robert Branch. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Grady Evans, Jerry Smith, Scott Smith, Dennis Farr, Ronnie Crocker, Danny Sprouse, Marty Reardon, and Todd Palmer. The following are asked to form the honorary escort, Danny Comer, Whitney Smith, Tommy Eaves, Stan Eaves, Ronnie Eaves, Johnathan Adams, Robert Palmer and Jeff Reynolds. Staff and Nurses of Ellen Sagar Nursing Home and Blue Ridge Hospice are asked to sit in a goup. Visitation will be from 1:00 until 2:00 PM Tuesday at the church prior to the services. Memorials may be made to Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church, 373 Wesley Chapel Rd., Union, SC 29379. The family will be at the home, 4712 Lockhart Hwy., Union, SC 29379.
