Mrs. Ethel Mae Cohen Jolly, age 89, of 806 South Pinckney St., widow of Loyd Stanley Jolly, passed away Saturday, June 21, 2014 at Heartland of Union. Mrs. Jolly was born in Bessemer City, NC, April 4, 1925, a daughter of the late William Paul Cohen and Ada Black Cohen. She became the owner of Excel Beauty Shop after working at Milliken Company- Excelsior Mill for 20 years. Mrs. Jolly was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church. Surviving are a daughter Linda Carlin and husband Dennis, and a grandson Brian Carlin all of Wellington FL.; a sister Louise Eller and husband, Rev. Harold Eller of Lancaster; two sisters-in-law Jackie Cohen of Spartanburg and Barbara Cohen of North Augusta; a special friend, Linda Bobo of Union; and a number of nieces and nephews. Mrs. Jolly was predeceased by two brothers Harry Cohen and Paul Cohen. Funeral services will be held 12:00 PM Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at the S.R. Holcombe Chapel conducted by the Rev. Harold Eller. Burial will follow at Union Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 11:00 until 12:00 prior to the service in the chapel. Memorials may be made to Tabernacle Baptist Church, 915 S. Pinkney Street, Union, SC 29379. The family is at their respective homes.
