Ethel (Hawkins) Taylor

June 8, 1931 — March 3, 2025

Mrs. Ethel "Bud" Hawkins Taylor, age 93, of 1657 Mudbridge Rd., Jonesville, widow of Herbert A. Taylor, went home to be with the Lord, Monday, March 3, 2025 after an extended illness.

Mrs. Taylor was born in Union Co., June 8, 1931, a daughter of the late D.G. Hawkins and Helena Lancaster Hawkins. She was a graduate of West Springs High School and Cecil's Business College. She retired from Harley Bag in Camp Croft. Mrs. Taylor was a lifelong member of West Springs Baptist Church where she was a member of the choir and was active in all aspects of the church.

Surviving are a daughter, Ruth Ann Williamson and husband Eddie; a son, David Taylor and wife Betty Jo all of Jonesville, and a nephew, Stanley Smith and wife Diane. She is also survived by grandchildren, Todd Baldwin (Allen), Joel Taylor (Lindsay), Jared Taylor (Lacy), Elizabeth Ireton (Mark), Charlie Wilson (Kasi) and Dillon Williamson (Lauren); great-grandchildren, Taylor (Anna), Jonathan, Daniel, Garrett, Seth, Anna, Cooper, Rayna, Sadie, Clark and Jaxson, and great great-grandchildren, Charlotte and Savannah. She was predeceased by a sister, Norma Smith, a brother, Stanley Hawkins and a nephew, Mark Smith.

The family would like to say a special Thank You to Crescent Hospice and Leigh Kingsmore for the care given to Mrs. Taylor.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Thursday, March 6, 2025 at West Springs Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Greg Black. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 1:30 until 2:45 PM Thursday at the church prior to the services.

Active pallbearers will be Mark Heatherly, Mike Gault, Brandon Heatherly, Tyler Heatherly, Frank Lancaster and Rev. Mark Truitt.

Members of the Adult Ladies Sunday School Class of West Springs Baptist along with Gary Hawkins, Ken & Martha Lancaster, Judy Lovelace, Linda Davis, Katlin Alexander, Frona Taylor, Dana Heatherly and Bonnie Eaves are asked to sit in a group.

Memorials may be made to West Springs Baptist Church, 4811 Buffalo-West Springs Hwy., Pauline, SC 29374.

The family will be at the home of David and Betty Jo Taylor, 1748 Mudbridge Rd., Jonesville.
