Etta T. Smith

May 24, 2017 Mrs. Etta Tucker Smith, age 88, formerly of Union, passed away Friday, May 19, 2017 at Coastal Carolina Hospital in Hardeeville, SC. Mrs. Smith was born in Union, January 16, 1929, a daughter of the late Louis Lee and Fannie "Dolly" Tucker. She was a graduate of West Springs High School and the Isothermal Community College in Rutherford, NC for Nursing Aid. She worked at several hospital auxiliaries before going into retail where she worked at Cato's and The Men's Clothing Store in Union. She was a member of Augsburg Lutheran Church. Mrs. Smith was an excellent seamstress and enjoyed gardening and ceramics. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and caring friend. She moved to be near her daughter in 2003 where she continued to reside. Surviving are a daughter, Kimberly L. Smith of Savannah, GA; three grandchildren, Michael Smith-Foot of Morganton, GA, Thomas Smith of Wilmington, NC, and Andrew Foot of Crawfordville, GA and four great-grandchildren. A memorial service was held at Asbury Memorial United Methodist Church in her honor. A graveside memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at Union Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Asbury Memorial United Methodist Church, 1008 East Henry St., Savannah, GA, 31401.
