Eugene Elmer “Buddy” Hance, Jr.

January 4, 2018 Mr. Eugene Elmer "Buddy" Hance, Jr., age 68 of 302 Glendale Rd., Union, passed away Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at his home. Mr. Hance was born May 8, 1949 a son of Clara Nelle Gulley Hance with whom he made his home and the late Eugene Elmer Hance. He was a graduate of Union High School and Furman University. Mr. Hance was retired having formerly worked at Knights Apparel and as a substitute school teacher. He was a member of First Baptist Church. Surviving in addition to his mother are one brother, Neill Hance of Taylors; one sister, Claire H. Cassell and husband Sam of Columbia; and six nieces and nephews, Pace Cassell, Davis Cassell, Tanner Cassell, Teagan Hance, Ian Hance, and Nolan Hance. He was predeceased by one brother, James Hance. Memorial services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, January 6, 2018 at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Chapel conducted by the Rev. Robbie Stollger. Visitation will be held immediately following the services. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, 405 E. Main St., Union, SC 29379 or to a Charity of One's Choice. The family is at the home, 302 Glendale Rd., Union, SC 29379.
