Eugene Lawrence “Butterbean” Sprouse

October 30, 2017 Mr. Eugene Lawrence "Butterbean" Sprouse, age 76, of 279 Sprouse Rd., Jonesville, passed away Sunday, October 29, 2017 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Mr. Sprouse was born November 10, 1940 in Jonesville, SC a son of the late Oatzel and Ethel Sprouse. He was a graduate of Jonesville High School and attended USC-Union and Spartanburg Technical College. Mr. Sprouse retired from Torrington & Co.-Tyger River Plant. He was a member of New Hope United Methodist Church and the Union County Cattlemen's Association. Surviving are one brother Henry Sprouse and wife Marlene; one niece, Angela Plemons and husband Harold; one nephew, Steve Sprouse and wife Jureda; one great-niece, Emily Jade Plemons; one great-nephew, Jacob Plemons all of Jonesville. He was predeceased by one brother Steve Sprouse. Memorial services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, November 4, 2017 at New Hope United Methodist Church conducted by the Rev. Dr. Jim Ivey. The Men's Sunday School Class of New Hope United Methodist Church are asked to sit in a group. Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM Saturday prior to the services at the church. Memorials may be made to New Hope United Methodist Church General Fund or Cemetery Fund, P.O. Box 787, Jonesville, SC 29353. The family is at the home of his brother, Henry and Marlene Sprouse, 342 Sprouse Rd., Jonesville, SC 29353.
