Eugenia Ann (Floyd) Mcfalls

Mrs. Eugenia  "Genie" Ann Floyd McFalls, age 79, of 513 Lakeview Heights, Union, widow of James Arthur McFalls, passed away, Wednesday, January 25, 2023 at her home after several months of declining health.  Mrs. McFalls raised her family on Pineland Road but after her husband's death, made her home with her daughter and son-in-law, Rhonda and David Lee.

Mrs. McFalls was born December 30, 1943 in Union, a daughter of the late Garrison and Ruth Floyd.  She worked at Monarch Mill until her retirement and attended New Hope Baptist Church.  Mrs. McFalls was affectionately known by her family as Grandma Genie.  Mrs. McFalls loved to travel and her favorite place to visit was Pigeon Forge, Tennessee.  She loved to go to Dollywood and listen to the Kingdom Heirs.  At home, you could find her watching Hallmark and she loved to complete crossword puzzles.  She enjoyed putting together Easter baskets for all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and loved a good shopping trip to Belk and Hamrick's.

Surviving are two daughters, Rhonda McFalls Lee and husband David of Union and Jackie Thompson of Union; a son, Ricky McFalls of Buffalo; a daughter-in-law, Brandy McFalls of Union; nine grandchildren, Jerry Brooks Lee, David ONeal Lee and wife Brooke, Bradley Thompson and wife Jessica, Justin Matthew Thompson and wife Sydney, Caitlyn Roberson and husband Coby, Andrew Thompson, Crystal Millwood and husband Wesley, Tyler McFalls, and Austin McFalls; eleven great-grandchildren; and her fur baby, Leo. She was predeceased by two sons, Micky Wayne McFalls and Ronald Eugene McFalls; and three brothers, Leroy Floyd, James Floyd, and Ronald Floyd.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, January 27, 2023 at New Hope Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Larry Goins and Rev. Johnny Burgess. Burial will follow at Union Memorial Gardens.

Active pallbearers will be Mrs. McFalls grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM prior to the services at the church.

The family would like to extend a special "Thank you" to Compassus Hospice especially nurses, Bruce Cook, Lacey, Summer, and Rebecca for their love and care of Mrs. McFalls during her illness.
