July 23, 2014 Mrs. Eugenia Gregory Morgan, age 88, of 112 Mission Drive, Union, widow of Charles E. Morgan, passed away on July 23, 2014. She is survived by a daughter, Margaret Sue Morgan, of the home; a niece, Deidre Gregory, of Appling, GA; a nephew, Wade Johnson and wife P.J. of Versailles, KY, and a niece Sandi McDowell and husband Richard of Richmond, KY; and a numerous cousins residing in Union County. She is the last surviving member of her immediate family having been predeceased in death by her parents, Jerry Gregory and Margaret "Maggie" Workman Gregory, a sister, Martha E. Gregory, a brother, Carroll J. Gregory and a son, Charles Scott Morgan. Mrs. Morgan was a 1942 graduate of Union High School. She was an active member of First Baptist Church, Union. Over the years she held many offices in the church. Mrs. Morgan was a Sunday School teacher, a WMU, GA and YWA leader. She was also the WMU Facilitator for the Pearl Johnson Baptist Women. Mrs. Morgan was WMU State Recording Secretary for four years. She was also church cleark for twenty-four years, church librarian for a number of years, and treasurer of the Union County Baptist Association for thirty-three years. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, July 27, 2014 at First Baptist Church Chapel conducted by the Rev. Rick Pendleton. Burial will follow at Union Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers will be Hubert Sanders, Jimmy Vinson, Mark Meador, Jud Meador, Ben Meador, and Bobby Hicks. Visitation will be held from 12:00 PM until 1:00 PM Saturday prior to the services at First Baptist Church Chapel. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, 405 E. Main St., Union, SC 29379 or to Meals on Wheels, PO Box 951, Union, SC 29379. The family is at the home, 112 Mission Drive, Union.
