Evelyn (Allen) Brown

May 13, 1923 — December 23, 2024

Mrs. Evelyn Allen Brown, age 101, widow of Sidney Brown, went to be with the Lord, Monday, December 23, 2024.

Mrs. Brown was born May 13,1923 in Buffalo, a daughter of the late Grover Cleveland Allen and Mattie O'Shields Allen.  She was retired from Conso Products and had formerly worked for United Merchants of Buffalo.  Mrs. Brown was a member of Buffalo Methodist Church, where she was a member of the Rosa Roundtree Circle and received the Mother of the Year Award in 2005.  She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Surviving are a son, Jerry Brown of Buffalo; a son-in-law, Randall Liner; three grandchildren, Billy Liner, Misty Brown McAbee, and Kerry Brown; five great-grandchildren, Haley McDade, Jadyn McAbee, Connor McAbee, Jackson Brown, and Mason McAbee; one great-great-grandson, Harlem Winarski; and numerous nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by a daughter, Sonja Liner; sisters, Nannie Petty, Sarah Belue, Alma Shuler, Ruth Allen, Flora Putnam, Mildred Gause, Dot Fowler, and brothers, Bud Allen, Bill Allen and Frank Allen.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, December 28,2024 at Buffalo Methodist Church, conducted by the Rev. Jeff Farmer and Rev. Kevin Dalton.  Burial will follow at Union Memorial Gardens.

Active pallbearers will be, Keith Wright, Russ Sanders, and Doug Johnson.  The following are asked to sit in a group and form the honorary escort, Dianne Stevens, Elaine Bishop, Bruce Betenbaugh, and LayLay.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 until 2:00 PM prior to the services at the Church.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Union Post Acute Care for their love and care of Mrs. Brown during her illness.

The family is at their respective homes.
