Evelyn Steely Crisp

Mrs. Evelyn Steely Crisp, age 89, formerly of Buffalo, widow of James L. Crisp, Sr., passed away Monday, September 26, 2016 at Heartland of Union. Mrs. Crisp was born in Creswell, NC on January 10, 1927 a daughter of the late Henry Steely and Drucilla Sexton Steely. She was retired from United Merchants Buffalo Plant and was a member of Buffalo Baptist Church. Surviving are three sons, James L. Crisp, Jr., Ronald P. Crisp, and Preston Crisp all of Buffalo; two grandchildren, Albert Crisp and Amanda Fox and husband Randy; a number of great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; two brothers, Delbert Steely of Plymouth, NC and Julian Steely of Norfolk, VA; and a special niece, Rita Kimmerling of St. Paul, MN. Graveside services will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, September 29, 2016 at Union Memorial Gardens conducted by the Rev. Lynn Ford. The family will receive friends immediately following the services at the cemetery. Memorials may be made to Buffalo Senior Citizens, C/O Union County Senior Citizens, 237 N.
