Faye G. Nelson

January 16, 2019 Mrs. Faye Garner Nelson, age 89, widow of Dallas L. Nelson, Sr., of 315 Haile St., Jonesville, passed away Monday, January 14, 2019 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Nelson was born in Kelton, May 10, 1929, a daughter of the late James G. "Jim" Garner and Lillie Lois Mae Sanders Garner. She was a graduate of Kelly-Pinckney High School and was retired from Jonesville Elementary School and Jonesville High School where she worked in the library. Mrs. Nelson was a member of Jonesville Baptist Church and a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. Surviving are two daughters, Cathy N. Orr of the home and Judy N. Weatherford of Winston-Salem, NC; a son, Dallas L. Nelson, Jr. and wife Donna Crocker of Chapin; one grandson, Nelson Trent Weatherford and wife Ashley of Wake Forest, NC; two great-granddaughters, Holden and Emmy Weatherford; and a special niece, Mary Alice Wade of Union. She was predeceased by a son-in-law, Billy Weatherford; two sisters, Ruby G. Sanders and Hilda G Proctor; and two brothers, Aubrey Garner and William Roy Garner. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, January 17, 2019, at Jonesville Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Scott Cannon. Burial will follow at Jonesville Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers will be Smitty Smith, Darrell Addis, Barry Moss, Ronnie Garner, Keith Vanderford and Jim Gregory. Visitation will be held from 1:00 until 2:00 PM Thursday at the church prior to the services. Memorial may be made to Jonesville Baptist Church, P.O. Box 787, Jonesville, SC 29353. The family will be at the home, 315 Haile St., Jonesville.
