Ferol Haney Tankersley

Mrs. Ferol Haney Tankersley, age 89, of 201 Church St., Buffalo, widow of J.R. Tankersley, passed away Monday, April 18, 2022, at Union Medical Center.

Mrs. Tankersley was born April 22, 1932, in Union, a daughter of the late James Shetley and Hollie Hawkins Shetley.  She retired from United Merchants Buffalo Plant and later worked at Wal-Mart for 15 years.  Mrs. Tankersley was a member of Buffalo Baptist Church where she was a member of the Luna Mae Ford Sunday School Class.  She was first married to the late Amos Haney.

Surviving are a son, Barry Haney and wife Susan of Buffalo; two grandsons, Joey Riddle of Spartanburg and Chris Riddle of Union; six great-grandchildren; and a special niece Phyllis Haney of Buffalo. She was predeceased by a daughter, Carla Vivian Haney; a sister, Evelyn Shetley Morrow; and a brother, Donald Shetley.

Funeral services will be held at 4:00 PM Thursday, April 21, 2022, at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Chapel conducted by the Rev. Doug Estes and Rev. Dr. Steve Lemons.  Burial will follow at Rosemont Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be John Kingsmore, Vic Kingsmore, Mike Haney, Mark Shetley, Gene Shetley, and Eric Haney.

Visitation will be immediately following the services at the cemetery.
