Florence Edelyn Rogan Little Jonesv Sc

Mrs. Florence Edelyn Rogan Little, age 86, passed away Monday, August 4, 2014 at Ellen Sagar Nursing Home. Mrs. Little was born October 23, 1927 in Greeleyville, SC a daughter of the late Edelyn M. and Thomas S. Rogan. She graduated from Greeleyville High School and attained a BA degree from Flora MacDonald College in Red Springs, N.C. Mrs. Little furthered her education at the University of South Carolina, Furman University, and Winthrop University. Mrs. Little began her teaching career at Hebron High School in Williamsburg County, at Clover Junior High School, at St. George High School, at Harleyville-Ridgeville High School, at Kelly-Pinckney School and at Jonesville Elementary School. During her years of schoolwork she was a member of the National Education Association, South Carolina Education Association, Palmetto Education Association, South Carolina Association of Librarians and South Carolina Library Association. In 1953, she married the late Warren N. Little and became the proud parents of three daughters. Edelyn married the late Donnie Moore and they have one daughter, Carrie. Eugenia married Bruce Taylor and they have one daughter Stacey married to Justin Hopper. Susan married Mike Scales and they have a daughter Emily married to Marc Sutton and a son Matthew married to Kristi F. Scales. They were also blessed with two great-grandchildren - Wylie Scales and Isabella Sutton. Mrs. Little is also survived by a brother William D. Rogan and his wife Jackie. She was predeceased by a sister, Judy R. Henson and a brother, Thomas S. Rogan. The Little family attended New Hope United Methodist Church where Mrs. Little was the Choir Director, President of the U.M.W. as well as other capacities. She was a member of the Fair Forest Chapter of the D.A.R. and the John Hames Chapter of U.D.C. Funeral services will be held at 6:30 PM Wednesday, August 6, 2014, at New Hope United Methodist Church conducted by Rev. Dr. Jim Ivey. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Keith Gault, Tim Gregory, Bill Rogan, Stan Rogan, Walter Rogan and Lesesne Scott. The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall immediately following the committal services. Memorials may be made to New Hope United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 787, Jonesville, SC 29353. The family will be at the home, 473 Bob Little Rd., Jonesville.
