Frances Garner Farmer, age 83, widow of J.B. Farmer, formerly of Buffalo, passed away Tuesday, July 22, 2014 at Ellen Sagar Nursing Home. Mrs. Farmer was born in Buffalo, SC, February 19, 1931, a daughter of the late Hettie Willard Garner. She retired from Her Majesty and was a member of Buffalo Baptist Church. Surviving are a son, Terry Farmer and wife Ruth of Gaffney; a granddaughter, Brooke Smith and husband Lee of Covington, GA; a great-grandson, J.B. Smith; a great niece, Jennifer Coker and husband Mark; a great-great-niece, Kelsie Coker; a great-great-nephew, T.J. Coker and numerous other nieces, nephews, and generations of other nieces and nephews. Mrs. Farmer was predeceased by four sisters, Elizabeth Lancaster, Louise Meadows, Edna Garner and Margaret Lawson. Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Friday, July 25, 2014 at Buffalo Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Lynn Ford, Rev. Tim Anderson and Rev. Gary Farmer. Burial will be in Rosemont Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Tim Ferrell, Bobby Joe Wood, Jared O'Shields, Stanley Wells, John Moss, Mark Coker and T.J. Coker. The following are asked to serve as Honorary Pallbearers: Bruce Betenbaugh, Brenda Wells, Ruth Ann Anthony, Wanda Holcombe and Joyce Smith. Visitation will be held 6:30-8:00 PM Thursday evening at the SR Holcombe Funeral Home.
