Frances (Ivey) Greer

Mrs. Frances Ivey Greer, age 94, widow of Walter Bailey Greer, of Union, passed away at Union Post Acute, Tuesday, April 15, 2025.

Mrs. Greer was born in Union, December 16, 1930, a daughter of the late Herbert and Sarah Harvey Ivey. She was a 1949 graduate of Union High School. Mrs. Greer worked at Tabernacle Baptist Church in the Child Development Center and retired from Union County Schools guidance department.

Mrs. Greer was an active member of Tabernacle Baptist Church as long as her health permitted. She was a member of the Sunday School, the Lottie Moon Circle, Keenagers and the Widows Fellowship.

Mrs. Greer (Nanny) is survived by her loving family. Her children are Steve Greer and his wife, Mary, daughters, Kathy Williams and her husband, Bob of Greer and Karen Wilson and her husband, Todd, of Georgetown. Her grandchildren are Sarah (Daniel) Rowe, Kathryn (Tito) Giordiano, Daniel (Coutney) Greer, Dillon (Caroline) Greer, Tyler (Grace) Wilson, Katie (Hunter) Morris. Mrs. Greer's great-grandchildren are Bailey, Jadon, Nathan, Bella, Caleb, Addi, Lilianne, Charner, Tillman and Gwen. She is also survived by two sisters-in-laws, Elsie Eve and Sadie McWhite who the children say has been like a sister to their mom and has been a godsend to the family and appreciated and loved so much. There are also a number of nieces and nephews and a special niece, Jackie Weber. Mrs, Greer was predeceased by two sisters, Edith Foster and Birdie Mae Bates and one sister-in-law, Bobbie Ruth Cudd.

Funeral services will be held April 18, 2025 at 3:00 PM at Tabernacle Baptist Church Conducted by Rev. Brad Goodale. Burial will follow at Union Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Tabernacle from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM prior to the service.

Active pallbearers will be her grandsons. Honorary pallbearers are her caregivers from Union Post Acute and Cresent Hospice.
