Frances Jolly

Miss Frances Jolly, age 86 of Mt. Vernon Rd., Union, passed away Tuesday, September 10, 2024 at the Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home.

Miss Jolly was born in Union, December 29, 1937, a daughter of the late Ben Tinsley Jolly and Faye Nesbitt Wilkins Jolly. She was a 1955 graduate of Union High School and also graduated from Cecil's Business College. She worked many years with Cone Mill, Carlisle Finishing Plant, Nationwide Insurance Company and retired as an insurance agent with Life of Georgia.

Frances was a member of Salem Baptist Church where she taught a children's class and served on various committees. At her home church, Hebron Baptist, she served as a nursery worker and a youth leader. She loved God, church, family, many friends, children of friends and especially her niece Cindy.

Frances was creative and enjoyed refinishing furniture, arranging flowers, working in her yard, and traveling with her best friend Jean on trips that she won through sales with Life of Georgia insurance.

Surviving are a brother, Ben Jolly and wife Barbara of Union; a niece, Cindy Jolly of York and a special friend, Jean Hyder of Union. She is also survived by numerous cousins.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, September 14, 2024 at Salem Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Dr. Tommy Vaughn and Rev. Dr. Joel Burke. Burial will follow at Union Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 until 2:00 PM Saturday at the church prior to the services.

Active pallbearers will be Terry Lawing, Matthew Burke, Rick Wilkins, Lynn Wilkins, Doug Jolly and Tim Barnado.

The family will be at the home of her brother, Ben and Barbara Jolly, 406 Mt. Vernon Rd., Union.
