Frances Lunsford Williams

Mrs. Frances Lunsford Williams, age 89, of 2299 Mt. Lebanon Rd., Buffalo, widow of John Henry Williams passed away Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at her brother's home. Mrs. Williams was born in North Carolina on July 14, 1926 a daughter of the late Curtis Franklin Lunsford and Annie Belle Navy Lunsford. She was devoted to her late husband, whom she was only married to for a short time before he was killed while serving his Country in the Korean Conflict. Mrs. Williams was a graduate of West Springs High School and Cecil's Business College. She was a retired Legal Secretary and later worked for Westside Baptist Church as the Church Secretary. Mrs. Williams loved serving the Lord as a member of Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church. She was the church organist for many years and then later served as the organist at Gilead Baptist Church in Jonesville. Surviving are a brother, Floyd Lunsford and wife Joyce of Buffalo; three sisters, Bertha Lawson of Roebuck, Gladys Lawson of Dover, Delaware, and Edith Lawson and husband Fred Wayne of Pauline; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers, Dallas Lunsford and Paul Lunsford. Funeral services will be held, 2:00 PM Sunday, February 28, 2016 at Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Melvin Shelton and Rev. Jimmy Farmer. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Donnie Lunsford, Joe Lawson, Aaron Lawson, Gerald Lawson, Phillip Lawson and David Crisp. The following special caregivers are asked to sit in a group, Melinda Moats, Shirley Gadson, and the staff of Gentiva Hospice. Visitation will be held from 12:30 PM until 2:00 PM Sunday prior to the services at the church. Memorials may be made to, Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church, Homebound Committee, 2153 Mt. Lebanon Road, Buffalo, SC 29321. The family will be at the home of her brother, Floyd Lunsford and Joyce, 124 Dutchman Creek Road, Buffalo, SC 29321.
