Mrs. Frances Roark Woods, age 82, widow of James Arthur "Jim" Woods of Ellen Sagar Nursing Home, passed away Thursday, April 7, 2016. Mrs. Woods was born in Clover, NC, April 21, 1933, a daughter of the late Russell and Estelle Ashe Roark. She was a graduate of Union High School and retired after 37 years from Conso Products. Mrs. Woods was a faithful member of Hebron Baptist Church where she was a member of the Adult Women's Sunday School Class. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the Union BPO Does Drove #148 for a number of years. Mrs. Woods was a wonderful and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and mother-in-law. She was a loving and Godly woman that lived and shared her faith in Jesus Christ with others. She was loved by everyone she came in contact with. Surviving are two daughters, Donna Woods of Batesburg and Lyda Cannon of Union; three sons, Randy Woods and wife Kathy and Kerry Woods and wife Marrisa all of Buffalo, and Harry Woods and wife Kathy of Union; two sisters, Mamie Lou Horne and husband Lewis, and Goldie Brock all of Union; two brothers, Albert Roark and wife Margaret and Russell Roark and wife Diane of Union; a special friend, Brenda Williams of Buffalo; five grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. Mrs. Woods was predeceased by a son, Jim Woods, Jr.; a grandson, Brian Woods; a granddaughter, Hannah Elizabeth Woods; three sisters, Faye Phipps, Bobbie Jean Baldwin and Dorothy Johns and one brother, Kenneth Roark. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, April 10, 2016 at Hebron Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Brian Childers. Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:30 PM Saturday evening at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home. The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of Ellen Sagar Nusing Home and Blue Ridge Hospice, and the members of the BPO Does Droves #148 for their care and support provided to our family during this time. Vernon Rd., Union and at the Buffalo Opry House, 118 Dana Tara Lane, Buffalo.
