Franklin Delano Brown

Mr. Franklin Delano Brown, age 78, husband of Frances Greer Brown of 200 Lover's Hill Rd., Union, passed away Sunday, August 30, 2015 at Spartanburg Medical Center. Mr. Brown was born in Charlotte, NC September 8, 1936, a son of the late Garfield Brown and Anna Mullen Brown. He was a graduate of North Carolina School for the Deaf in Morganton, NC and retired from the US Postal Service in Charlotte, NC. He was a member of Mon Aetna Baptist Church and was also a member of the South Carolina Deaf Association. Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons: Brian J. Brown of Iron Mountain, MI and Charles T. Brown of Chester; a step-daughter, Susan A. Hanvey and husband Randy "Chump" of Union; a step-son, William "Jeff" Brockman and wife Cyndi of Pauline; a brother, Thomas Brown of Charlotte, NC; nine grandchildren and a great-grandchild. Memorial services are being planned for a later date and will be announced later by the SR Holcombe Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the S.C. School for the Deaf Alumni Association, P.O. Box 6523, Spartanburg, SC 29304. The family will be at their respective homes.
