Franklin D. Wright

Mr. Franklin D. Wright, age 81, of 2950 Hwy 39 Mountville, widower of Joan Woodward Wright, passed away Monday, January 13, 2014 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Mr. Wright was born in Greenville, on November 6, 1932 a son of the late Nathan and Nellie Hood Wright. He was first married to the late Catherine Lawson Wright. Mr. Wright was a graduate of Cross Keys High School and was retired from W.R. Grace Company. He was a veteran of the US Army having served during the Korean War. Surviving are three sons, Gerald Wright of Enoree, Roger Wright and wife Sharon of Mountville and Marvin Hayes of North Carolina; a brother Arthur Wright of Enoree; six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Mr. Wright was predeceased by twin sons, Ronald and Donald Wright, one sister and four brothers. Graveside services will be held 1:00 PM Thursday, January 16, 2014 at Greenhaven Memorial Gardens conducted by Rev. Phil Bryson and Rev. Ronnie Blackwell. Visitation will be held 7:00 until 9:00 PM Wednesday evening at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home. The family will be at the home of his son, Roger and Sharon Wright, 2950 Hwy 39, Mountville.
