Freida (Wald) Moss

Mrs. Freida Wald Moss, age 79, went home to be with the Lord, Sunday, October 1, 2023 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center, after a sudden illness.

Mrs. Moss was born in Union, March 12, 1944, a daughter of the late Charles M. West and Lois Lawson Holt. She was a devoted member of Lakeside Baptist Church, and a member of BPOE Does.  Mrs. Moss worked with the Union County School system until she retired. She so loved spoiling her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Surviving are two daughters, Rhonda Cobb and husband, Rev. R. Scott Cobb and Lawana Moss; grandchildren, William Scott Cobb (Sarah), Brittney D. Carter (Shane), Ansleigh Nicole Moss; great-Grandchildren, Sophia Cobb, Spencer Cobb, Brycen Carter, Olivia Carter, Jace Hall, Penelope Carter and special family members, Shirley Mitchell and Rhonda Blair. Mrs. Moss was predeceased by a daughter, Carol Anne Dunnigan, and her stepfather, Bobby Benny Holt.

The family would like to say a special Thank You to caregivers, Michelle Caroll, Kayla Farr and Peggy Gilkinson for their care given to Mrs. Moss during her illness.

Funeral services will be held at 4:00 PM Wednesday October 4, 2023 at Lakeside Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Robert Scott Cobb and Mr. Chad Ponder. Burial will follow at Bogansville United Methodist Church.

The following are asked to serve as pallbearers William Cobb, Shane Carter, Jonathan Johnson, Jimmy Blair, Hunt Blair, Dell Mitchell.

A visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Tuesday, October 3, 2023 at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home.

The family is at the home of her daughter, Rhonda Cobb, 105 Newport Drive, Union, SC.
