Furman Lester Henderson

September 22, 1929 — April 20, 2018

Mr. Furman Lester Henderson, age 88 of 701 Toney Rd., Union, widower of Sara Crocker Henderson, passed away Friday, April 20, 2018 at his home. Mr. Henderson was born in Union, SC September 22, 1929, a son of the late Irby "Hoss" Fowler and Lincie Henderson Horne. He was a graduate of Union High School and retired from United Merchants- Buffalo Plant. Mr. Henderson had also worked for the S.C. Department of Corrections. He was a Veteran of the US Airforce and was a member of Westside Baptist Church. Surviving are a son, Tony Henderson and wife Teresa of Union; three grandchildren: Anthony F. Henderson and wife Katy of Union, Morgan H. Rholetter and husband Allen of Franklin, NC and Gordon Alan Henderson and wife Nicole of Spartanburg; four great-grandchildren: Sarah Hope Henderson of Union, Kavelin Gage Rholetter of Franklin, NC, Michael Furman Henderson and Christopher Reiman Henderson both of Spartanburg. Mr. Henderson was predeceased by a son, Lester Gene Henderson. Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Monday, April 23, 2018 at SR Holcombe Funeral Chapel conducted by Rev. Chris Guledge and Mr. Jamie Cohen. Burial will be in Rosemont Cemetery with Military Honors. Active pallbearers will be Allen Rholetter, Anthony Henderson, Gordon Henderson, James Baulknight, Butch Foster and Michael Gibson. Visitation will be held 6:00-8:00 PM Sunday evening at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Alzheimers Association, S.C. Chapter, 4124 Clemson Blvd, Suite L, Anderson, SC 29621 or to the American Cancer Society, 154 Milestone Way, Greenville, SC 29615. The family will be at the home, 701 Toney Rd., Union.
