Gaius Wendell Baker

Mr. Gaius Wendell Baker, age 76, husband of Ida Mae Hodges Baker, of 300 Seigler Rd., Union, passed away Tuesday, June 22, 2021, at his daughter's home.

Mr. Baker was born December 1, 1944, in Newberry a son of the late Weldon Cannie Baker and Johnnie Emerson Baker.  He was a graduate of Whitmire High School and was a retired Minister.  Mr. Baker was a member of Faith Community Church. He was an avid Gamecock Fan.

Surviving in addition to his wife are two daughters, Crystal Moore and husband Thomas of the home and Kathy Mitchell and husband Walter of Union; two stepchildren, Annette Jordan of Conway and Kenny Jordan of Plantersville; two sisters, Jewell Baker Nelson of Whitmire and Opel Elline Dowdeswell of Spartanburg; a brother, Weldon Chavies Baker of JoAnna; Ryot, Serenity, Trace, Joey, Ashley, Danielle and Abbiegail; a step grandchild, Tracey Contiss; and two great-grandchildren, Klayton and Kenzie.  He was predeceased by two daughters, Becky Baker and Cynthia Baker

Memorial services will be held immediately following the 11:00 AM church service Sunday, June 27, 2021, at Faith Community Church conducted by the Rev. Steven McAbee.

Visitation will be immediately following the services at the church.
