Mrs. Gayle Dabbs Garner, age 77, of 1300 S. Pinckney Street, Union, widow of Wendell Garner passed away, Tuesday, October 13, 2026, at Hospice of Laurens County.

Mrs. Garner was born January 3, 1949, in Union, a daughter of the late Clarence Hope Dabbs and Nellie Mae Gibson Dabbs. She was a graduate of Lockhart High School and was employed as a Ward Secretary at Wallace Thomson Hospital for 26 years. Affectionately known to many as "Mama Gayle," Mrs. Garner never met a stranger and had a way of making everyone she encountered feel like a friend. Her outgoing personality, warm spirit, and love for people made her a familiar and beloved face to so many throughout her life.

Surviving are three sons, Rodney Hope Gibson of Lockhart, Terrence Duane Gibson of Lockhart, and Dean Gibson of Union; a grandson, Christian Malachi Gibson; and a great-nephew, Bishop Spencer.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, October 17, 2026, at Union Memorial Gardens conducted by Pastor Steven McAbee.

Visitation will be immediately following the services at the cemetery.
