Gene Palmer

Mr. Gene Palmer, age 74, of 220 Estes Rd., Union, widower of Robin Lanier Palmer, passed away Wednesday, July 5, 2023 at his home.

Mr. Palmer was born in Union, October 24, 1948, a son of the late Henry Palmer, Sr. and Susie Black Palmer. He was a graduate of Union High School and received a bachelor's degree from the University of South Carolina. He retired from Union Feed and Seed and also from Cone Mill, Carlisle Finishing.

Surviving are a son, Bobby Gene Palmer and wife Mary of Union; two sisters, Judy Denton of Lockhart and Mary Sue Gossett of Union; two brothers, Henry "Sonny Boy" Palmer, Jr. and Eddie Palmer both of Union and a granddaughter, Mackenzie Palmer.

The family would like to say a special Thank You to the Spartanburg Regional Hospice especially Toni Gregory for the care and compassion shown to Mr. Palmer and his family during his illness.

Graveside services will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, July 9, 2023 at Union Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the graveside immediately following the service.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jason Childers, Arnold Childers, Scott Vlock, Graham Vlock and William Childers.
