George Thomas Mcinvale

Mr. George Thomas McInvale, age 80, formerly of 231 Country Rd, Union, widower of Shirley Button McInvale, passed away Wednesday, February 12, 2014 at Heartland Healthcare of Union. Mr. McInvale was born in Miami Beach, FL on February 21, 1933 a son of the late Charlie O. McInvale and Madge Elder McInvale Shane. He was a graduate of Miami Jackson High School and was retired as a self-employed contractor. Mr. McInvale was a veteran of the United State Army having served in the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Padgett's Creek Baptist Church where he was a former Chair of the Board of Deacons and an honorary Deacon. Mr. McInvale was also a member of the Union Amateur Radio Club. Surviving are two daughters, Debby Duncan and husband Joey of Waterloo, SC and Cynthia Price of Spartanburg; an aunt Mary Lee Elder Parker of Union; four grandchildren, Shelley Cade and husband Justin of Arlington, VA, Jamica Duncan of Waterloo, SC, Russell Price, Jr. of Spartanburg, and Mallory Drew Duncan of Spartanburg; a great-grandson, Lucas James McDaniel; a special friend Patricia Price of Union; and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, February 16, 2014 at Padgett's Creek Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Carrol Caldwell. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1:30 PM until 3:00 PM Sunday prior to the services in the church. Memorials may be made to Padgett's Creek Baptist Church Building Fund, 843 Old Buncombe Road, Union, SC 29379. The family is at their respective homes.
