Mr. George Raymond Starnes, III, age 65, husband of Arana Tally Starnes of 1307 Linersville Rd., Buffalo, passed away Monday, January 25, 2021 after an extended battle with cancer.

Mr. Starnes was born in Charlotte, June 8, 1955, a son of the late George Raymond Starnes, II and Edith Tucker Starnes. He was a retired long haul truck driver and was a certified truck driving instructor. Mr. Starnes was a veteran of the US Navy having served in the Vietnam War.

Mr. Starnes was owner of the Union Station Music Depot and was also a bass player and lead singer with the Union Express Band. He loved music and always greeted people with a huge smile.

Surviving in addition to his wife are two daughters, Nicole Starnes and Kelly Starnes both of Cummings, GA; a grandchildren, Haley Hernandez of Cummings, GA, ; a step-daughter, Brandy Walker and husband Tyler of Greeneville, TN; and grandchildren, Payne Coleman, Aleh Coleman and Genara Coleman of Greeneville, TN; a sister, Barbara Archie of Concord, NC and a brother, Rick Rogers of Charlotte, NC. Mr. Starnes is also survived by several nieces and nephews including two special nieces, Marsha "Mar Gay" Gray of Kannapolis, NC and Shana Klitsch of Charlotte, NC. He was predeceased by a sister, Wanda Wentz.

A celebration of life service gathering will be held 4:00 PM Saturday, February 6, 2021 at the Union Station Music Depot at the David A. Fant Building, 422 N. Pinckney St., Union, SC 29379.
