Mr. Glenn Walter Stein, age 75, husband of Wanda Jenkins Stein of 402 Mill Street, Lockhart, passed away Sunday, June 8, 2014 at Spartanburg Regional Hospice House. Mr. Stein was born in Camden, January 24, 1939, a son of the late Marvin Luther Stein and Helen Davis Stein. He retired from Plastic Reclaims and was previously employed with Milliken & Co., Lockhart Plant. Mr. Stein was a member of Lockhart First Baptist Church where he and his wife were leaders of the Senior Saints. Mr. Stein was also a former church bus driver and was a member of the Adult II Sunday School Class. He also had served on the Lockhart Town Counsel. Surviving in addition to his wife are two daughters, Melanie Bagwell and husband Phil of Roebuck, and Gina Childers and husband Brian of Union; a son, Mark Stein and wife Jeri of Union; four sisters, Carol Scott, Linda Cato and Gail Carnes all of Kershaw, and Bootsie Britton and husband Reggie of Myrtle Beach; three brothers, Don Stein and Grady Stein and wife Melanie all of Florida, and Mike Stein and wife Becky of Heath Springs, SC; five grandchildren, Chelsea Bagwell and fiancée Wes Emery, Katelyn Bagwell, Austin Stein, Haley Stein and Brina Childers. Mr. Stein was predeceased by a brother, Charles Stein. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, June 11, 2014 at Lockhart First Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Delos Blanton and Rev. Dr. Don McCutcheon. Burial will be in Lockhart Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Dusty Cook, Kelly Callahan, Wes Jenkins, Jason Plemmons, Matt Cato, Jimmy Williams, Rusty Lucas, and Donnie Johnson. Members of the Adult II Sunday School Class along with Mike Allen, John Richardson, Sammy Webber, Jerry McDonald and Ralph Edwards are asked to sit in a group. Visitation will be held from 7:00 until 9:00 PM Tuesday evening at Lockhart First Baptist Church. Memorials may be made to Lockhart First Baptist Church, Youth Ministry or Senior Saints Group, P.O. Box 190, Lockhart, SC 29364. The family will be at the home, 402 Mill St., Lockhart, SC 29364.
